Our Story

Driven by Hope

Rommana was born in a small home in Wadi Al-Samen, Hebron

Who We Are

A Space for Childhood, in a Place Under Siege

The only space available for nearly 2,000 children living in Wadi Al-Samen: a neighborhood under siege by three military checkpoints that isolate it from the city of Hebron, Palestine.

Rommana works to break the cultural isolation imposed by military barriers and movement restrictions in Wadi al-Samen. It focuses on providing children in the neighborhood with a wide range of cultural and expressive activities.

Rommana began as a grassroots initiative founded by Sarah Abo Madi in her home in 2020, with the help of volunteers from the community. The project was created to give the children of Wadi Al-Samen a chance to experience their childhood, and to express their identities, dreams, and emotions, despite the difficult realities they face.

Our Vision

A Future Where Every Child Can Dream Freely

A strong community fabric grounded in the belief that every child has the right to live freely and safely to dream, to express, and to take part in shaping their reality and future.

Their Voice, Their Vision

A World Where Children Shape the Story

At Rommana, children are at the heart of everything we do. They actively participate in all levels of our work ,from planning and organizing to implementing activities. Our programs are designed in direct response to their needs, making them true partners in shaping Rommana’s vision and impact.

Children describe Rommana: a world of imagination where children can dream freely, without limits

Imagining Tomorrow

Our Future Through the Eyes of Children

We asked the children: How do you imagine Rommana in the future?

Their answer came in the form of a vibrant vision a five-story building where every floor holds a dream.

First floor: A lounge and play area
Second floor: An art studio
Third floor: A space for meetings
Fourth floor: Activities and events
Fifth floor: A library filled with books and imagination

With your support and donations, we can turn this beautiful vision into reality and build the Rommana that children dream of.
